Research on energy systems analysis and carbon-neutral societies
In Matsuhashi Laboratory, we conduct research on energy systems and climate change mitigation, as well as various studies related to energy policy. We are engaged in developing power generation models that consider the expansion of renewable energy adoption and constructing new energy economic models that take bounded rationality into account. Our research integrates these models to advance our studies.
Research field 1
Energy System Analysis and Comprehensive Energy Sciences
We analyze the complex flow of energy from extraction to transportation, conversion, and utilization as a system, and study it analytically and comprehensively in relation to climate change mitigation measures. Aiming to realize a safe, secure, and prosperous carbon-neutral society, we link our research outcomes to proposals for new energy policies and various institutional designs. In addition to interdisciplinary industry-academia collaborative research within the university, centered on the Collaborative Research Organization for Comprehensive Energy Sciences (CROCES), we are also strengthening our network with government agencies. Through active research and education, we promote research for society by implementing energy technologies, proposing energy policies, and designing energy systems.
