Dear colleague,

The Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Photonics is a top-level English-taught 2-year master program involving 5 European Universities and building upon existing master programs in photonics. Those 5 universities are Ghent University (coordinating university) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium, Royal Insitute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden and St.Andrews University and Heriot Watt in Scotland.
The master program is supported by the European Union in the form of scholarships for non-European students. The scholarships amount to 21000 euro per year and easily cover all expenses for these studies. The call for applications for such scholarships is open until 15 January 2009 (for the next start of the master program in September 2009). The 20 best students will be selected and will be offered a scholarship.
More information about this master programme can be found in the attached flyer or on the website www.master-photonics.org. May I please ask you to inform your last-year bachelor students about this master programme and to encourage them to apply.

Kind regards,
Geert Morthier
