This research CORE aims to break through the limit of semiconductor electronics we are facing, explore the properties and physics of new materials by making full use of nano technologies and apply them to integrated devices and systems, so as to add new functions to electronics. We want to contribute to secure-life electronics by realizing super ultra-high performance/ultra-low power consumption foundation devices and support the future of society through these activities.
Specifically, we have established three sub-themes that include the "creation of functional nano quantum devices," the "structuring of functional nano mechanical devices" and "nano functional devices/circuits," so as to realize new technologies completely different form existing ones by incorporating nano technologies. Research on new electronics incorporating nano technologies is being carried out under the circumstances in which multiple faculty members conduct joint research on each sub-theme, while collaborating with the groups working on the other sub-themes at the same time.
